Kit Guide

Be organised and have the right gear for when you are in the water and when you get out. A wetsuit is essential if you are not acclimatised to cool waters or if you plan to spend a considerable amount of time in the water. Have the right goggles for the right weather conditions – a mirrored pair will help you see better in bright sunlight and swim shoes help if there is stony ground underfoot. Safety guide

Open water venues often do not have lifeguards so it’s important to do your own risk assessment. Know the conditions, heed warning signs, make sure you are visible in the water and that someone on land knows where you are. The link below will take you to more information on how to stay safe when swimming outdoors.
